Terms of service

Terms of service

Last updated 4 September 2026.

1. Who you are dealing with

BuryYourShit.com is operated by MATEDRA, obrt za poslovno savjetovanje, edukacije i digitalne usluge, OIB 25386701111, Ljudevita Rossia 33A, 47000 Karlovac, Croatia ("we", "us"). Contact: info@buryyourshit.com.

2. What this service is

BuryYourShit.com is a novelty memorial service. You pay to create a "grave": a published page that names something you consider finished — a job, a relationship, a habit, an era — with optional dates and a short epitaph, together with a certificate and shareable images.

Nothing here is a real death record, a legal document, or a memorial to any person. The certificate is a novelty item and has no legal effect.

3. Service status

Burials are not open yet. The graves currently shown on this site are examples, marked as such. Nothing on this site can be purchased at present.

4. What you may bury

You may bury things, ideas, periods and relationships. You may not bury a person. The full rules are on the rules page and form part of these terms.

Submissions are checked before publication. We may:

  • refuse a submission before payment;
  • hold a submission for human review before it is published;
  • hide or remove a published grave that breaks the rules.

If a submission is refused before payment, you are not charged. If a published grave is removed because it broke the rules, no refund is due.

5. Your content and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of the text you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, publish and display that text and the images generated from it, for as long as the grave exists, so that we can operate the service.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the text and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

6. What we provide

A published grave gets a permanent address. If you change the title, the address may change form but the previously shared link continues to resolve to the same grave.

We aim to keep published graves available indefinitely, but we do not guarantee perpetual availability. We are a small business, not an archive. If we ever cease operating, we will give reasonable notice and, where practical, a way to export your grave.

7. Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you pay and include any tax our payment provider is required to collect. Payments are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller for tax purposes. Its own buyer terms apply to the payment itself.

Promotional pricing, including free burials offered at launch, is limited in number and may be withdrawn at any time. Once a promotional allocation is used up, the listed price applies.

8. Cancellation and refunds

Refunds are covered on the refunds page, which forms part of these terms.

9. Reporting and removal

Every grave carries a report control. Reports are reviewed by a person. We may hide a grave while a report is being reviewed.

10. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to harass, threaten or expose anyone, to publish unlawful material, to scrape or overload the service, or to circumvent moderation.

11. Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. Changes apply to purchases made after they are published on this page. Material changes will be dated here.

13. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Croatian law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there.
