Refunds

The short version

If the grave you paid for did not appear, you get your money back. If it appeared and you simply changed your mind after it was published, you generally do not, because the thing you bought was delivered immediately at your request.

Your right of withdrawal, and why it ends early

EU consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content supplied immediately, that right ends once supply has begun, provided you expressly asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal.

At checkout you will be asked to confirm exactly that before the grave is published. If you do not confirm it, the grave is not published until the 14 day period ends.

We refund in full when

• payment was taken but no grave was published;
• the grave was published with content materially different from what you submitted, because of a fault on our side, and we cannot correct it;
• a technical fault made the grave permanently unavailable through no act of yours;
• you were charged more than once for the same burial.

We do not refund when

• the grave was published as you submitted it and you changed your mind;
• the grave was removed because it broke the rules;
• you are unhappy with how many people visited it. We sell the grave, not an audience.

Refused submissions

A submission refused by moderation never reaches payment, so there is nothing to refund. No charge is made for a grave that is never published.

Free burials

A burial taken from the free launch allocation involves no payment and therefore no refund. It is still a real grave and the rules apply to it in full.

How to ask

Write to info@buryyourshit.com with your grave ID, which appears on the grave page and on your certificate. We aim to answer within five working days.

Payments are handled by our payment provider as merchant of record. Approved refunds are returned through it, to the original payment method.
